Bradley “Brad” Gene Dye, 67, formerly of Anderson, Indiana; currently of Parkville, Missouri, passed away Friday, July 24, 2026.
Brad was born on March 16, 1959, in Anderson to Robert (Bob) Dye and Janice (Simpson) Dye VanWinkle.
Raised in Anderson, Brad attended Highland High School and learned many aspects of the construction business under his father’s mentorship during that time. This served as the foundation of his work and career life, culminating in his last role owning his own business B&D Construction.
Brad relocated to Missouri in his young adulthood, building a life in the Northland and meeting and marrying his wife and “best friend”, Debbie. They shared a life together for over 30 years.
Brad especially loved golf and fishing and found great joy in spending time in these moments with his buddies.
In addition, he also loved debating current affairs with friends and family, making political discussions another “sport” he enjoyed.
He loved music, particularly in his later years when he developed health challenges, spending endless hours listening to his favorite songs and playing his guitar.
Brad also enjoyed special times with family and often spent time reminiscing about the memories of his upbringing and childhood. Particularly those including his cherished older sister, Laura.
Brad is survived by his loving wife Debbie, and family Brandon (Caridad) Dye, Alicia Thompson, Brandon (Mindi) Dowell, Brooke (Paul) Ehrhardt; siblings Beth Cook, Dean VanWinkle, and honorary brother Steve Craig, and 10 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father Bob Dye, mother and stepfather Jan and Ronnie VanWinkle, sister Laura Dye Craig, and infant brother Robert Kent Dye.
A Memorial and Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 29th, 2026, Smithville American Legion, Post 58, Smithville, Missouri. A reception will follow from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Brad was a great guy. I had a lot of fun with Brad playing golf shooting pool drinking beer playing cards discussing politics and many others. Brad was very competitive at everything..He will be missed by many.He was one of a kind.. His motto was always (better than it was.)
Brad was one of kind with a special knack for confusing his competitors. I’ll truly miss his friendship.
