William Albert Ridder 91, of Blue Springs, MO, formerly of Kearney, MO passed away February 5, 2013 at Research Hospital. Graveside Service will be at 10:00 am, Friday February 8, 2013 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery Higginsville, MO. William was born July 22, 1921 near Higginsville, MO. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corp before serving in the US Navy, April, 1941 and was honorably discharged October, 1946. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor when it was bombed, but was at sea on maneuvers at the time. After discharge, he was employed by Butler Mfg. 37 years before retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mildred Bartel Ehlert, and brother Orion Ridder.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 66 years, Laverne Bartel Ridder of the home, daughter Lavonne Ridder of Blue Springs, MO, sons Richard Ridder (Sandra) of Richmond, MO, Michael Ridder (Sheryl) of Libertyville, IL, and Patrick Ridder (Sherry) of Blue Springs, MO; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and three step-greatgrandchildren, also surviving are a host of nieces and nephews.
