Bill practiced law in Kansas City for forty-five years, with twenty years spent as a partner at the Whipple, Eisler & Kraft Law Firm, and twenty-five years as a labor arbitrator. He was a member of St. Therese Parish, where he was active in the liturgical committee and church choir. He also served as a board member of the Northland Symphony Orchestra. In addition, Bill was a proud member of the Park Hill Alano Chapter of AA. He was thirty-three years sober and over that period helped hundreds of people find recovery. His legacy of service to the men and women of Kansas City AA will endure for years to come. As a third generation Kansas Citian and the grandson of Irish immigrants, Bill was always proud of his heritage and instilled that pride in his sons and extended family.
Bill married Darlene Engelhart on June 19, 1968 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Kansas City. Mrs. Eisler preceded Bill in death in 2011. In addition to his wife, Bill was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings. Survivors include two sons, Sean (Haley) Eisler of Parkville, MO and Patrick (Heather) Eisler of Kansas City, North; three brothers, Robert, Jr., Richard and Kevin; grandchildren, Jacob, Jessica and Kathryn.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 13, 2014 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 7207 NW Highway 9, Kansas City, MO 64152, Rev. Joseph Cisetti, celebrant. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to Mass. Burial will follow at Resurrection North Cemetery. In addition, there will be a public viewing from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2014 at the Meyers Northland Chapel, 401 Main St. Parkville, MO 64152, for those unable to attend Saturday to pay their respects and sign the guestbook. Memorial contributions are suggested to NorthCare Hospice and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and may be left in care of the funeral home.
