William “Bill” Eugene Dixon, 92, formerly of Odessa, MO passed away peacefully Sunday, November 8, 2020 at his home in Columbia, MO. He was born June 8, 1928 in Kansas City, MO to Clyde and Lurah (Williams) Dixon.
Bill was a graduate of North East High School in Kansas City, MO. He was united in marriage to Sally Ann Kramer on December 25, 1949 in Kansas City, MO. Bill worked as a steel heat treater for Sheffield Steel and later Armco Steel, Inc before his retirement after 40 years. He was a member of First Faith Baptist Church in Columbia, MO. Bill enjoyed woodworking, gardening, camping, and being a provider for his family. He cherished being a husband, father, and grandfather.
Survived by daughters, Peggy Dixon of Columbia, MO, Sheila Youger (Doug) of Independence, MO; grandchildren, Justin Willig, Nathan Willig; great-grandchildren, Cameron and Caleb Spalding, Cuillin and Thorin Willig, Wylie Hunter, Tayte Willig and Layni Willig; brother, Donald Dixon (Carleen) of Grandview, MO. Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Sally Dixon; granddaughter, Flechia Spalding; parents, Clyde and Lurah Dixon.
His family will received friends and family from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 Main St. Blue Springs, MO. Funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the chapel. Burial will immediately follow at the Blue Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers his family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
