Wayne M. Cantwell, 91, of Blue Springs, MO passed away Sunday, December 25, 2016 at the Groves in Independence, MO. A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 pm Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Meyers Funeral Chapel 1600 W. Main St. Blue Springs, MO. Graveside services will follow 3:00 pm at the Blue Springs Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Burn Hospital in Galveston, Texas. Wayne was born December 1, 1925 in Rush Springs, OK the son of Roy Lee and Ida Bell (Barnett) Cantwell. On July 13, 1948 in Topeka, KS he married Vivian “Cookie” (Lambert) Cantwell who survives of the home. In 1990 he retired from Great Northern Electric and Evans Electric. He was a Methodist by faith. Wayne became a Shriner because of the care and support they gave him as a child. He became a Shriner in 1970 and was active in the mounted guard, provost and bingo through the Ararat Shrine Temple in Kansas City, MO. In his spare time he enjoyed feeding wild animals.
In addition to his wife Vivian “Cookie” he is survived by his sons, Michael Wayne Cantwell of Kansas City, MO, and David Cantwell (Vicki) of Independence, MO; sister, Fay Nell Clifton of Grandberry, TX; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; Eight step-grandchildren.
WHILE WORKING IN THE PROVOST I WAS FORTUNATE TO MEET WAYNE.. HE WAS A FIXTURE AT BINGO TOO. ALWAYS A GENTLEMAN.

So Sorry to hear about Uncle Wayne. My mom was Merle Cantwell. I came across the obituary while I was attempting to search for my ancestors.
