A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at the West Fairview Cemetery in Lenox, Iowa. Wayne Dale Bruington, 83, a resident of Gladstone, MO passed away peacefully Thursday, May 25, 2023 in his home, with his loving family by his side. Wayne was born February 23, 1940 to Ted and Gertrude (Hale) Bruington in Lenox, Iowa.
He graduated from North Kansas City High School. Wayne grew up with the family-owned carnival, Hale’s Shows of Tomorrow, where he met his future wife, Julie. Wayne spent the majority of his working career for CertainTeed, Allied Signal and Ecolab. Following retirement, Wayne drove for Sunset Tours, a job he truly enjoyed. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with family, was an avid Chiefs and Royals fan, collected World War II memorabilia and had a love for animals, especially dogs.
Wayne is survived by his son Brent Bruington (Kendra); two grandchildren: Alec Bruington and Brandon Bruington; Sister-in-law, Janice Uptegrove and her three sons and their families. He was preceded in death by his wife, Julie Ann (Watkins) Bruington; both parents; and two siblings. Gordon “Skip” and Gloria Arnone.
