Walter Wayne Pate, 75, a Northland resident of Kansas City, MO passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018. Walter was born July 30, 1942 to Walter Earl and Freida Joyce (O’Neil) Pate in Evansville, IN.
Walt attended the Wentworth Military Academy and later served in the United States Air Force. He attended the University of Missouri in Rolla and earned his Associates degree.
Walt was united in marriage with Julia Briseno in Paola, KS in 1964.
He spent the majority of his working career in the IT Department at North Kansas City Hospital. Prior to working for the hospital he worked for 12 years with the FAA. Walt was a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast; he enjoyed model airplanes, music and computers.
He was preceded in death by both parents. Survived by his loving wife, Julia; two daughters: Joyce Elaine Hankins (William) of Kansas City, MO and Denice Marie Pate of Kansas City, MO.
A Committal Service with military honors will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to American Legion Parkville Post 318 or Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation.
