Valerie Jean Carter, 72, of Liberty, MO passed away suddenly at her home on June 27, 2022. She was born November 20,1949 in Vermillion, OH to Irvin Leonard and Virginia Mae (Snell) Mollenkop.
Valerie attended Richmond Heights High School where she met the love of her life, Henry. She graduated in 1967 and then moved to Arizona with her parents where she attended Glendale Community College and pursued a Business Management Degree. The couple were then united in marriage on June 15, 1968 in Euclid, OH. The couple raised two children and resided in Ohio until 1987, where they were then relocated to Liberty, Missouri where they happily lived ever since.
Valerie spent the majority of her working career as an office manager for a couple different doctors. Valerie had a strong relationship with the Lord and was raised Baptist. She taught youth group, attended church regularly, enjoyed singing in the choir, and reading her bible and daily devotions. Valerie enjoyed crafts, ‘cruisin’ while listening to oldies music, singing, dancing, puzzle books, playing slots at the casino, and spending time with family, especially once she was promoted to Nana and Gigi. She also cherished her time with her best friend, Dee Beerup and husband, Max.
Valerie will be terribly missed by all who knew and loved her. Valerie is survived by her husband, Henry of Liberty, MO; her son, Curtiss Carter (Tammy) of Ashland, OH; her daughter, Dawn Anderson (Tim Cutler) of Gladstone, MO; grandchildren, Hailey Anderson (Josh Paulsen), Cody and Clay; and three beloved great grandchildren (Colter, Leaton, and Lincoln). She is also survived by her two sisters, Sharlene Cavender of Greensboro, SC and Jerilynn “Dee Dee” Adair of Centerburg, OH, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family, who she loved and adored. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Sheryl Neal and Retha Pearse; and a brother, Frederick Mollenkop.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Services and Burial will follow at the East Slope Cemetery in Riverside.
