
Thomas graduated in 1951 from Central High School in Kansas City, MO. He furthered his education at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, MO receiving his Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree. Thomas served his country proudly in the United States Army as a police officer while stationed at Heidelberg, Germany. On August 24, 1963 Thomas was united in marriage to Juanita Rhodes in Kansas City, MO. He spent his working career in education as a High School teacher for the Kansas City Missouri School District. While at Paseo High School, Thomas coached cross country, track, and basketball. Thomas was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church of Blue Springs. He was always proud that he was an Eagle Scout. Thomas enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, reading, and traveling. He cherished spending time with his family and friends.
Survived by his daughters, Julie Brunner and her husband William of Lansing, MI, Cindy Bomar and her husband Jarvis of Lee’s Summit, MO; 2 grandchildren. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Virginia Board; wife, Juanita Rhodes.
The family will receive friends and family from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main St, Blue Springs, MO. Memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements have been entrusted to Meyers Funeral Chapel in Blue Springs. Memories of Thomas and words of comfort for his family may be shared at meyersfuneralchapel.com.
