Theresa R. Eschenbach, 84, of Parkville, Missouri, passed away peacefully Monday, May 18, 2026, with her loving family by her side. Theresa was born December 21, 1941 to James S. and Mary F. (Murphy) Rooney.
Theresa married the love of her life, Jim Eschenbach, on September 13, 1980, sharing 45 years of marriage. Theresa and Jim created many memories; traveling in their RV to winter in Louisiana and explore the mountains in the western United States. Her favorite place to travel was Ireland. This held a special place in her heart.
Theresa had many creative interests that brought her happiness over the years. She loved Porcelain Art China Painting; where she found satisfaction in the detailed artistry it required. She also enjoyed cooking and was especially known for her generous spirit in sharing meals; as an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Norborne, Missouri and St. Therese Catholic Church she would often donate meals for funeral services. Theresa took great joy in creating handmade gifts for family and friends, often knitting afghans and hats.
She was known for her true social spirit. She loved being around people and enjoyed the many conversations, gatherings, and experiencing wine tastings with her friends.
Theresa worked as a courier for FedEx, but her most important career was being a loving mother and devoted wife.
Theresa is survived by her husband, Jim; three children: Timothy McCoy; Maureen Zeltmann (Craig), and Sean McCoy (April). She was preceded in death by both parents and a sister Patricia “Pat” Oldham.
A Funeral Mass celebrating the life of Theresa will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 1, 2026 at St. Therese Catholic Church 7207 NW Highway 9 Kansas City, MO. I am going to miss her so much! We always sat together at Mass and the usher would bring us the bulletin because we were always sitting there talking after everyone else filed out. And our ladies lunch group won’t be the same without her.
