Jeff dedicated his life to serving his community and fellow officers. Jeff was an avid fan of the Kansas City sports teams including the Royals, Chiefs and Mavericks. In his later years you could find Jeff with Caroline either at the Maverick’s hockey game or watching his youngest son Jackson play soccer and football. To my brothers~
While Dad’s gone on ahead of us, I am comforted to know that some of the best parts of him can also be found in you.
All who knew him were made better for it, and it is my hope that I might live up to his example and do him proud.
Thanks for everything, Dad.
Go in peace.
Caroline, I am so, so sorry to hear about Jeff’s passing. He was a great person to work for at the BSPD and gave me a lot of support during some difficult times. I truly enjoyed the peer relationship we shared when he was the Chief of Police at Lake Lotawana PD and I was the Chief of Police at Greenwood PD. He was good guy and had a great sense of humor. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family.
Thank you so much for being a great “GREAT POLICE OFFICER”. Because of your service to your community and the people that that you have helped and all the lives you have saved you have become the best police officer anyone could ask for.

WIFE OF A (DECEASED) UNITED STATES ARMY VETERAN
I only knew Jeff as an acquaintance through the PD and FD, but it was an honor to meet and shake the hand of the man who saved my Father’s life before I was even born as he was the first police officer to the scene of a revenge shooting/robbery where my Father was a young convenience store manager in south KC. Young Jeff Rogers arrived quickly to scare away the robber and tended to my Father who had been shot 3 times. God Bless Jeff Rogers for saving his life. I dedicated a lot of my first responders years as a thanks to him!
Carolyn, Sorry for your loss. Good memories of him coaching the baseball team.
Worked with Jeff for. 10 years. He even went with Bob Ahring and I to Tuxall to get all my uniform gear. He was very helpful anytime I asked. A Good man and Police Officer will be missed
My deepest condolences to the Rogers family. You are in my heart and prayers.
I will remember Jeff for his intelligence and sense of humor as well as his desire to serve his community through volunteer work and serving on the board of aldermen and later as mayor of Lake Tapawingo. Rest In Peace Jeff.
