Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2023, at St. Therese Catholic Church 7207 NW MO 9 Hwy Kansas City, MO 64152, with Fr. Randy Sly presiding. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. A committal Service and interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, where military honors will be presented under the auspices of the United States Air Force Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions are suggested to St. Therese Parish. Arrangements by the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville. Stephen Francis Pappert, 81, a Northland resident of Kansas City, MO passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023. He was born March 2, 1942 in Springfield, OH to Francis J. and Mary “Elloise” Burkett.
Steve graduated from Catholic Central High School in Springfield, OH and proudly served in the United States Air Force. He had a long and rewarding career at TWA, and retired from World Span in 2001.
Steve was very devoted to both his Lord and his family. He married Marilyn Jean Praechter on October 22, 1966 in St. Louis, MO. Steve and Marilyn have been very active in St. Therese Parish, where Steve volunteered countless hours over the years. Steve will be remembered as a good and faithful servant and someone who had a generous and tender heart. Family was most important to Steve. He was very active in his grandchildren’s lives, and always looked forward to their annual summer trips and attending their sporting events and activities.
In addition to Marilyn, survivors include two sons: Donald Stephen Pappert and wife, Lavonne of Smithville, MO and Douglas Allen Pappert and wife, Heather of Kansas City, MO; five grandchildren: Keith Dawson and wife, Bethany, Austin Dawson, Kianna Pappert, Ryan Pappert and Leah Pappert; two great grandchildren, Colton and Daisy Dawson, and a brother, Christopher Pappert of Springboro, OH. His parents preceded him in death.
