Stephen “Greg” Foster, 65, of Kansas City Northland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at the North Kansas City Hospital surrounded by family and friends.Greg was born August 21, 1957, to Margie and Chike Foster. Shortly after, his parents were divorced and his mother reunited with her previous husband, Ed Rule, Sr., who raised Greg as his own.
Most of Greg’s time was spent working on cars, motorcycles and anything that had a motor. When not doing those things, you could find him spending time with family and friends outdoors fishing or around, the round table at the Corner Cafe discussing his many conspiracy theories.
He had a smile that let you know how important you were to him and maintained his memory to the very end.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Margie and Ed Rule, Sr., Chike Foster, and brother, Michael Rule. Greg is survived by his longtime loving dog, Maggie of the home, his daughter Rachel Lynn Rose of Carrollton, MO. He also leaves behind brothers Ed Rule (Kathi) of Excelsior Springs, MO, and Dan Rule (Marilyn) of Smithville, MO, four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, numerous family members, and friends. Greg will be greatly missed by all.
Family and friends will gather to visit and share memories of Greg from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 18th, 2023 at Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association and may be left in care of the funeral home. Memories of Greg and condolences may be shared at Meyersfuneralchapel.com.

I sit here with great sadness of a man that I called my step dad. Greg had an impact on my life that I will never forget and I will always be blessed that he was a part of my life. Greg taught me everything I know about working on cars and what it means for putting in a hard days work. His smile always told me that he was proud of what we accomplished whether it was working on a project car or just tinkering around with the lawnmower so it would run. I never got the opportunity to say good bye but he meant the world to me and may he R.I.P. and know that he will always be in my thoughts and heart. Words cannot describe the impact he had on me growing up. You will be missed and I love you so much.
