Stelle Marie Boone, 92, of Blue Springs, MO entered her eternal home on April 16, 2018. Her family rejoices that she has met her Savior face to face and has been reunited with many beloved family members and friends! Stelle was born on November 18, 1925 in Mundy, TX to Wilber and Estelle (Phillips) Morrison.
Stelle grew up on a working farm and graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Home Economics. She was united in marriage to Rex Boone on June 5, 1949. Their true love for each other has been a light to many. Even after so many years, they could still be found holding hands and enjoying being in each other’s presence. Stelle and Rex shared many adventures, moving all around the United States during his Navy and General Motors careers. After Rex’s retirement, they spent much time traveling and helping take care of their grandchildren.
Stelle was always an active part her church, teaching Sunday school and helping coordinate women’s events. She and Rex shared a morning devotion and prayer time at the start of each day. Stelle was a supporter of education and stayed up to date on current events, even in her final days. She is remembered as a great cook, seamstress, and back scratcher. Family events were never complete without her Jell-O salads, stuffed celery, and pimento cheese. Stelle spent countless hours rocking grandchildren. She loved puzzles and tri-ominoes. She was an avid fan of Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune, college basketball games, and Royals baseball games. Stelle was always mindful of each child, grandchild, and great-grandchild’s unique personality traits. Family and friends also remember her weekly hair appointments and the need to schedule events around that!
Stelle is survived by her husband of 68 years, Rex Boone; daughter, Karen Driscoll (Clark); son, Randy Boone (Janis); sister, Evelyn Richardson; grandchildren, Katrina (Todd) Barrett, Karla (Ryan) Ridgway, Clinton (Stacie) Driscoll, Sarah (Brian) Chapman, and Anna (Danny) Jones; great-grandchildren, Timothy, Kimberley, Tristan, Reece, Brooke, Brady, and Clay. Stelle was preceded in death by her paretns, Wilber and Estelle Morrison; brother, Jack; sister, Ann.
Stelle will be greatly missed by all. However, much peace is found in the assurance that she suffers no more. Her family greatly appreciates all the prayers and encouraging words for her over the last few weeks. She leaves a legacy of faith, patience, and love. May we all strive to honor that the rest of our lives, until we are united with her again.
A committal service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, April 20, 2018 at the Leavenworth National Cemetery, 150 Muncie Rd, Leavenworth, KS 66048. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m., on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main St, Blue Springs, MO. Memorial service will start at 3:00 p.m., at the chapel. Dear Boone Family:
It was such a joy to see Mr. and Mrs. Boone at Olivet’s 60th anniversary in 2011. I remember your family from the early years at Olivet mid 1950’s. Mr. Boone, you made a great head usher. Mrs. Boone was always so cheerful. Heaven is getting much fuller with so many former Olivetter’s getting their new Heavenly address.
May you remember her and smile knowing that one day soon you all will be together again.
In Christian love,
