Russell McKeehan, 55, of Shawnee, KS passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016, at his residence. He was born September 28, 1961 in North Kansas City, MO to Homer Russell and Mary Frances (Brown) McKeehan. Russ graduated from Park Hill High School and lived his entire life in the Kansas City area.
Russ was a very dedicated and hard worker. He was an entrepreneur and created a number of small businesses over the years. In his earlier years, he was employed by KC Electric and Pittman Co. Russ was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the Bristol Hill United Methodist Church, where he attended frequently until his health began to decline. In his spare time he enjoyed collecting various things, including anything to do with aliens, trains and guns. Russ was an avid Star Trek fan, enjoyed motorcycles and also enjoyed watching ice hockey, especially the Missouri Mavericks.
Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline McKeehan; children, Denise Mannings (Terry), Dennis Johnson (Guadalupe) and Kim Lynch (Joseph); three sisters, Diana Howery, Amy Roller and Stacy McKeehan; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren; and his brother-in-law and close friend, Doug Roller.
A memorial service celebrating Russ’ life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2016, at the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville. Following the service, family and friends will process to the East Slope Cemetery in Riverside, MO, where a committal service will be held. There will be no formal visitation.
