Ruby LaVerne Dryer, 86, a resident of Independence, MO passed away on Friday, December 14, 2018 at her home. She was born on November 13, 1932 to Elmer and Viola (King) Conwell in Independence, MO.
Ruby was united in marriage to James Dryer in Independence, MO. She was a house wife and farmed with her father. Ruby enjoyed reading, the casino, and her daily 4:00 p.m., coffee with her sisters. She truly cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survived by her children, Candace Batton (Allen) of Independence, MO, James E. Dryer II (Toi) of Independence, MO, Gerald Dryer (Carol Lloyd) of Buckner, MO, Laura “Kris” Lowery (Danny) of Independence, MO, Mike Peak (Sandra) of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Mandy Ginnings (Jim), Jason Batton (Melissa), Joshua Batton (Bridget), Shauna Dryer, Nick Dryer (Jennifer), Karry Ward (Turkell Board), Micaela Dryer (Mel), Steven Thornbloom (Mandy), Trish Lovelace (Kenny), Michael Peak, Jessica Peak; great-grandchildren, Kyler, Josie, Kolby, Marissa, Gregory, Alissa, Mattelyn, Nation, Michael, Dustin, Destiny, Ava, Addi, Alex, Kylan, Kizer, Emma, Olivia, Odin, Kenny, Kyrie; great-great grandchildren, Alyson, Calleigh, Leah. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Dryer; parents, Elmer and Viola Conwell; siblings, Lloyd Conwell, Helen Stallbories, Pat Brock; grandchildren, Jay Dryer, Jeremiah Dryer, Noah Thornbloom.

So sorry to hear about Aunt Ruby . It was always great time at Christmas at her house.
We always enjoyed visiting Ruby’s farm to pick up fresh produce. She seemed to have a wonderful place up on the hill which warmed up early in the spring. She will be missed.
