A private family gathering will take place to celebrate Ronald’s life at Meyers Funeral Chapel in Blue Springs. Memories of Ronald and words of comfort for his family may be shared at meyersfuneralchapel.com.
Ron exemplified the heart in the Heart of America Chorus, with his always cheerful spirit and his dedication to numerous jobs. That included publication of the annual Kansas City Chapter Directory for as far back as anyone can remember.
He also demonstrated remarkable courage and positive outlook over the last dozen years or more as he battled recurring medical problems. His knee operations, falls and complications would have left most people in a grouchy funk; Ron will be remembered for his smile and unfailing optimism.
Our prayers go out to Brenda and all the McIntire family. “May angels sing thee to thy rest. “
Rest in peace, Uncle Ronnie! We love you so much. I will never forget my childhood where you would keep us laughing at every family function. My favorite Uncle Ronnie joke was the cat who was fed antifreeze. Typical Uncle Ronnie. You had an infectious laugh, smile and angelic voice. While I didn’t understand it as a kid, I’ve now come to appreciate your love of family history. We could always count on you to know everything!!!! Big hugs and prayers to Aunt Brenda.
Ron was a very friendly person and I always loved the way he interacted with children. He will be greatly missed at family functions.
Ron was one of my first and best friends when I came to Kansas City in 2000 and joined the Heart of America Chorus. He was the one who kept track of attendance before 2010, at which time I took over that responsibility. The chorus leadership at that time was treating Ron (and me) badly, but Ron, always the optimist, always smiling, helped us both get through that time together. Ron, like Jerry Snyder before him, might be “vertically challenged” in the world’s eyes, but they stood tall in my eyes, and I will miss them dearly. May you find your place on the risers in Chapter Eternal and add your voice to the songs praising Jesus, as I wait for Jesus to call me home to join with you.
Uncle Ronny will be missed. Heart of gold and one of the best story tellers I ever heard. I know you were always just “a hop, skip and a jump, and 3 doors down” from Heavens Gate. What a great place to be now. Keep then entertained until we can join you,
So sorry to hear about Ron’s death . Although he was older than my sister and I , he never seemed unhappy hanging out with us when we came to visit Aunt Wilma. His beautiful smile always reminded me of my dad’s smile ( he was Russell Smith – Wilma’s brother.) Keeping you all in our prayers.
My sympathies to the McIntire family and friends at the loss of Ron. My memories as a cousin are of years long past, but that smiling face in the photo is so familiar. May your remembrance of many happy times bring comfort.
