Ronald “Ron” Ray Karst, 83, a resident of Blue Springs, MO passed away peacefully Friday, May 13, 2022 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO. He was born December 19, 1938 to Raymond and Ruth (Jacques) Karst in Foley, MO.
Ron graduated from Fort Osage High School in 1957. He was united in marriage to Donna Sue Mosley, from this union two sons were born, Dan and David. Ron owned and operated Ron’s Piggly Wiggly in Independence, MO. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Blue Springs. Ron was also a member and past Exalted Ruler of the Elk’s Lodge #2509 in Blue Springs, MO. He enjoyed golfing and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Mizzou fan. Ron cherished spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
Survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Donna Karst of Blue Springs, MO; sons, Dan Karst and his wife Kathy of Loch Lloyd, MO, David Karst and his wife Joy of Greenfield, WI; four grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren. Ron is preceded in death by his parents and one sister Patsy (Karst) Smith.
His family will receive friends and family from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Meyers Funeral Chapel 1600 W. Main St., Blue Springs, MO. Funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the chapel. Graveside service will immediately follow at the Blue Springs Cemetery in Blue Springs, MO. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Elks Lodge #2509 Christmas Basket fund in Blue Springs, MO.
