Roger Neal Armer, 70, a resident of Oak Grove, MO passed away peacefully Monday, June 26, 2023 at his home. He was born May 2, 1953 to Vernon and Eunice (Nelson) Armer in Kansas City, MO.
Roger graduated from East High School in 1971. He was united in marriage to Laurinda Bowman on December 9, 1972 in Kansas City, MO. Roger served his country proudly in the United States Air Force as an Avionic Inertial and Radar Navigation Systems Specialist and received an honorable discharge from his military services. He spent nearly 30 years working for Southwestern Bell and finished his career as a communications technician. Roger was a member of the Church of God Kansas City in Independence, MO. He was also a lifetime member of the NRA and a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Roger enjoyed scuba diving, boating, traveling, camping, and doing home repairs.
Survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Laurinda Armer of Oak Grove, MO; daughters, Jessica Dyann Armer Sanchez of Raytown, MO, Tracey Jenise Armer Sadler of Raytown, MO; grandchildren, Michaela Renee Raygor, Chandis Vernon Raygor, Emory Neal Sadler; siblings, Robert “Bob” Armer and wife Shirley of Siletz, OR, Daniel “Danny” Armer and wife Brenda of Independence, MO, Dennis Armer and wife Carol of Belair, MD. Roger is preceded in death by his parents.
His family will receive family and friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main St, Blue Springs, MO. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel. A committal service with full military honors will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Laurinda & family, May God comfort you in your sorrow. Roger was a diligent worker & could be very serious sometimes. He also had a sense of humor that would pop up when you least expect it.
I am sad for the family to lose him so soon. He was an upstanding husband, father, and grandfather. Thankful he was a Veteran. I knew him from East High School and 30 years at SWBT, SBC, aka AT&T. He will proudly stand before God. Rest good and faithful servant.
