Roberta Lea Schnell, born March 16, 1937, passed at the age of 85 on April 21, 2022 at home with her family. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Martha E. Payne (Kramer) and Lawrence W. Oliphant, husband Roy E. Schnell, sister Jacqueline J. Gates and her daughter Kelly M. Herbert.
Roberta leaves behind her children William L. Herbert (Shelly), Bradley S. Herbert and Debra G. Herbert (Ira), step-children Rogene A. Schnell and Craig A. Schnell, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Roberta was born in Kansas City, Kansas and lived her entire life in the KCMO area. After the passing of her mother at the age of 15, Roberta was raised by her step-grandmother Vinnie G. Payne and graduated from Westport High School.
Roberta especially enjoyed cooking for and spending time with her family, all the while making wonderful items for each, using her many talents of crocheting, embroidery, knitting and quilting. Roberta was also an avid reader and enjoyed gardening.
Visitation will be May 7, 2022 from 10:00 to 12:00 at Meyers Funeral Chapel Northland, 401 Main St., Parkville, MO 64152 with graveside services immediately following at Walnut Grove cemetery, Parkville, MO.
