My earliest memory of Bob was him coming into Plaza Bank . All the calculator machines, all the teller machines would stop and phones would be put on hold. All the gals would just watch him walk across the lobby. He was a super handsome guy. He also was the nicest guy ever. A perfect combination. I got to know him better when I started at Polsinelli. What an excellent human. I am better for having known him. My deepest condolences to Peggy and family.
Peggy & family, May you all feel peace and love from each other and those around you. Sending hugs.
I first met Bob in Kansas City just before he and my sister Peggy got married. He was so warm and friendly I grew to love him as did all of our family. He had a great sense of humor and his visits with Peggy to Illinois were full of laughter and shenanigans. We will miss him terribly. My deepest sympathy and prayers to Peg and all the family.

I felt so sorry Peggy for you and your family when you called about Bob’s passing. I thought of him as a very special person, always kind and caring and one of the best friends I ever had. I have many wonderful memories of us vacationing together and being together at family events. I feel fortunate to have known him.
Bobby and I met in law school when he joined the UMKC Law Review. He, Pete Smith and I became close friends in that year (1969). Bob also won the mock trial award while he was in school. Juries loved Bob because he was handsome, courteous, smart, and civil. He was the ultimate “Gentleman” at all times. And he had a great speaking voice to boot. I joined Bob and the boys at Polsineilli, White, Vardeman and Shalton in 1988. Bob and I worked several cases together, including the infamous RAM litigation involving Schoneker and Winning, and the defamation lawsuit brought by Ashcroft officials (which we settled for significant money after three days of trial). Bob and Judge Vardeman were two of my most favorite friends. I miss them both.
I am deeply saddened having just learned about Bob’s passing. He was a thoughtful advisor, excellent attorney, and great friend. Very best wishes to Peggy and family.
Bob and I were friends from 7th grade and through high school. We played many backyard baseball games with his brother Bill and Henry across the street. We just enjoyed hanging out. We kept in touch over the years by phone and reminisced about our times together and our families. Bob was a great guy.
