Robert “Bob” Arnold Moore, 76, a resident of Kansas City, MO, passed away Friday, September 8, 2023, at his home.
Bob was born to Eugene and Dorothy Moore on April 5, 1947. In 1964, he married Cheryl Ann Benneson, graduated from East High School and began growing his family. He is survived by his children Debra Aven (Michael), Steve Moore, Rebecca Bates, and proceeded in death by his daughter Susan Browning.
Bob worked hard at everything he did. He liked to stay busy and loved the outdoors. He spent his 20s and 30s hiking, backpacking, and camping with family and friends. His favorite spot to explore was Hercules-Glades Wilderness in Forsyth, MO. At age 40 he hit the roads running and completed 8 marathons. Bob spent 45 years working for CSC Service Works and retired in 2016. He soon decided to reenter the workforce at Weber, Inc. and retired a second time in 2020 at age 73.
He was a lifelong collector of coins and stamps who built birdhouses, crafted decorative primitive signs, and made a mean cocktail. Later in his life, Bob began collecting guns and enjoyed target shooting with family. Over everything else he got the most joy from being with his grandchildren: Hanna Aven, Clara Kulwicki (Brent), Holden Aven (Hannah), Isabella Aven, Sophia Genova, Chloe Moore, Molly Livingston, and Carly Moore. In addition to these, he is survived by his great grand-children: Christopher and Robert Kulwicki and June Marie Ottersbach; his sister and brother-in-law: Crystal and Michael Sexton; and many nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered for his silliness, the love and support he gave his family, and his persistence.
