A private family graveside service for Robert “Bob” C. Blackburn Jr. will be held at the Blue Springs Cemetery. His family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements have been entrusted to Meyers Funeral Chapel in Blue Springs. Robert “Bob” C. Blackburn Jr., 73, a resident of Blue Springs, MO passed away peacefully Thursday, October 26, 2023 at his home. He was born July 6, 1950 to Robert Sr. and Mary V. (McQuerry) Blackburn in Kansas City, MO.
Bob is a 1968 graduate of Blue Springs High School. Following his graduation Bob worked for Sears and then for a few trucking companies in the Kansas City area. He later joined the family business 40 and 7 Laundry and Dry Cleaning until it’s closing in 2015. Bob was Christian by faith. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survived by his sisters, Linda K. Logeman of Blue Springs, MO, Janice A. Claypole of Grain Valley, MO, Sharon L. Humbird and husband Terry of Sibley, MO; nephew, Jeff Davis and his wife Kim of Grain Valley, MO; great-nephews, Kyler and Keegan Davis of Grain Valley, MO. Bob is preceded in death by his parents; nephews, Brent and Eric Logeman.
To the Blackburn Sisters – my sympathy to you and yours as your brother Bob and my classmate has passed.
Fond memories of him during school years – living in Plaza Estates and he attended a couple of class reunions.

I was sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. He was always a friendly and kind classmate. My condolences to his sisters. Linda, I shared the news of Bob’s passing with Pam. We will always remember how kind you were to Meredyth and my parents. Take care.
