Robert retired from the United States Air Force, where he earned the rank of MSgt. Following his retirement, he worked as a deputy officer for the Johnson County Missouri Sheriff’s Office, served as a security guard for Rees Contract Services, where he was in charge of the Federal building downtown Kansas City, MO; and last he worked for Allied Barton Security, also in Kansas City, MO.
He was united in marriage with Marti R Hall on July 25, 1998 in Kansas City, MO. In addition to Marti, survivors include a daughter, Kimberly Powers; son, Bobby Powers; two step-children: Stephanie Gordon and Heather Heredia; and several grandchildren.
A memorial service celebrating Robert’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 a.m., prior to the service. A committal service with military honors will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Leavenworth National Cemetery.
