Richard “Rick” Randall Crews, 66, a resident of Blue Springs, MO passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 22, 2023 in Salina, KS. He was born March 12, 1957 to Richard and Audie “Marie” (Holladay) Crews in Huntingdon, TN.
Rick attended the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, MO, Metropolitan Community College, and The University of Tennessee at Martin. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. Rick was united in marriage to Julie Hosek in Kansas City, MO. He worked for Vyaire Medical as a field service technician. Rick was a member of AA Blue Springs. He enjoyed working on cars, especially Ford Mustangs, cooking, motorcycles, and the Kansas City Chiefs. Above all Rick cherished going on trips with his children.
Survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Julie Crews of Blue Springs, MO; children, Alexandra Simpson of Blue Springs, MO, Carly Brashear and husband Jonathan of Belton, MO, Kevin Crews of Kansas City, MO, Brandon Crews of Blue Springs, MO, Owen Crews of Kansas City, MO, Zachary Crews of Kansas City, MO, Annalise Crews of Belton, MO, Timothy Crews of Blue Springs, MO, Cecelia Crews of Blue Springs, MO, and his boy, Gus Crews of Blue Springs, MO; grandchildren, Jillian Brashear, Vincent Brashear, Dominick Brashear, Maclin Simpson, Delilah Crews, Marcella Crews; brother, Harold Eubanks and his wife Gail of Huntingdon, TN. Rick is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Marie Crews; brother, Frankie Eubanks.
His family will celebrate Rick’s life from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2023 at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main St, Blue Springs, MO. Family tributes will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the chapel. Rick’s family would like everyone in attendance to wear Kansas City Chiefs apparel. To every member of the Crews family, especially Kevin, Owen, and Brandon, my former students…I hold you each in my prayers and in my heart. Julie, I am thinking of you, too. I am so sorry, and I will continue to pray for you. I will ask the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus to console each of you today and in the days ahead. I remember Rick with much fondness. I am sorry to hear of Rick’s passing. I got to know Rick as a neighbor when he was in the carwash business next to Rod’s Sports. I always enjoyed our parking lot talks. Peace and comfort to the family as you mourn the passing of Rick.

I was saddened to hear about the passing of Rick. Sending prayers to his family and friends. I never got to meet him face to face but I often worked with him over the phone. He was always upbeat, and I could just imagine him smiling while he was working. Great person to work with, he will be missed.
