Richard Jaycox, 79, of Parkville, MO (formerly of Pierce, CO) passed away peacefully Saturday, May 14, 2022 with his loving family by his side. Richard was born April 20, 1943 in Hebron, Nebraska.
Richard was a Veteran of the United States Army and served from 1961 – 1963 with the United States Calvary in Germany. He continued to serve with the Army Reserves until 1967.
He was a member of the Elks Club in Hastings, NE. and enjoyed playing golf. Richard loved spending time with his family especially taking car rides in the country admiring the countryside views; watching wildlife in their natural habitat; hunting; fishing and camping in the wilderness. He was a huge fan of watching old movies portraying his favorite actor John Wayne. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers.
Richard was preceded in death by a son William “Will” Jaycox; a brother Gary Jaycox, sister-in-law Roberta (Mewes) Jaycox; a brother-in-law Jim Buckles; second wife Lynda Jaycox and parents. He is survived by his son James “Jamie” Jaycox and his wife Michelle of Kansas City, MO; a daughter-in-law Gloria (Carroll) Jaycox of Spring Hill, TN; two grandchildren: Jonathan Jaycox and Angela Jaycox both of Spring Hill, TN; two sisters: Willa Buckles of Baldwin City, KS and Alice Luttrell of Hebron, NE; his beloved cat of 15 years Rascal of Kansas City, MO; first wife Jacky (Crowley) Jaycox; many nieces, nephews and friends.
A Committal Service with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Terrace Park Cemetery Kansas City, MO. Memorial contributions may be left in the care of the Jaycox family for distribution to local Veteran’s organizations.
