Rhonda Renee McKeehan at the young age of 60, stepped from this life into her eternal home on February 17th, 2023. She was greeted there not only by her Heavenly Father but by her natural father, Earnest (Ted) Ault who proceeded her in death and other family and friends that were longingly waiting for her arrival. Rhonda was born November 5th, 1962 to Earnest (Ted) and Janice Ault and lived in the Independence and Blue Springs, Missouri area throughout her life.
In 1983 at the age of 20, Rhonda married James (Jim) McKeehan after their romance of 2 years and they enjoyed 40 years of inseparable marriage together. Rhonda worked for a Life Insurance Company in downtown Kansas City for over 39 years and retired last year in 2022.
Of even greater importance to her than her love for her husband and her daughter, her family and her friends was that of her lifelong devotion to God and her faithful service to the Kingdom of God and His body. She sacrificially served all of those around her and within the church and will hear those glorious words from God of “well done, good and faithful servant”.
She and her mother and various family members have attended First Assembly of God church that has recently become known as “Epic Church” for over 60 years. She was a faithful and loyal example of love and servant hood to her family and all who knew her.
Rhonda loved to walk in the park and enjoy the wildlife around her as well as vacationing at Panama City Beach in Florida. Her daughter, Melissa always said that “she” was her hobby. She loved to garden and enjoyed reading and visiting her extended family in Mountain Grove, Missouri. She made a world-famous peach cobbler and her nephews always insisted that she bring her incredible deviled eggs to the holiday meals. She loved going to her brother’s farm and participating in the “honey harvest”, riding the 4-wheeler, fishing and hunting for morel mushrooms.
Rhonda had a beloved daughter, Melissa who lived with her and her husband Jim in Blue Springs Missouri. She also had 2 siblings. One was an older brother; Jeffery Ault who currently lives in Independence as well as Climax Springs, Missouri. She had a younger sister; Linda Cunningham who resides in Lee’s Summit, Mo. She was blessed with her mother and father-in law; Jim and Shirley McKeehan, her sister and brother-in-law’s; Debby and Ed Snoke, Denise and Tim Van Horn and Mark Cunningham. She had 6 nieces and nephews Joseph and Ryan Stewart, Leslie Ingram, Weston and Austin Cunningham and Dustin Allen and their spouses. She had other extended family too numerous to list but well-loved and cherished.
There will be a time of visitation at Epic Church located at 3711 S Whitney Ave, Independence, MO on Saturday, February 25th beginning at 12:00 PM followed immediately with a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 PM. There will be no graveside service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Meyers Funeral Chapel in Blue Springs. Memories of Rhonda and words of comfort for her family may be shared at meyersfuneralchapel.com.

Janice, Jeff and Linda,
I was taken aback to hear of Rhonda’s passing. I am so sorry for your loss. I had not seen her in years but will always have the wonderful memories of childhood and how kind she was to us snot nose neighbor kids since she was a few years older than us, that didn’t matter to her or Linda they treated us with kindness and true friendship. They would have us over to their house across the street and Rhonda would choregraph dance moves as well as participate with us to do and perform in front of all our families at the same time in one of our backyards. I have treasured those memories my whole life. She was a kind, gentle, beautiful and a gregarious person and I know she will be missed by all who knew her.
Jim & Melissa, I worked with Rhonda for years; she loved you both so much. I’m praying that you both remember how much she wanted your lives to be blessed, just as she felt blessed by you both.
Melissa, Jan and Jim. I’m so sorry for your loss.
I remember the many years of going to church at Independence Assembly/Epic. Your mom was faithful there each Sunday. I especially remember the years she brought you Jan, to church. She was always friendly and glad to see me. She was the best mom ever Melissa! She truly loved her family.
Rhonda and her sister Linda are 2 of the brightest smiles of my high school years. We all 3, along with Shelley Huntsaker worked at Workds of Fun and went to Chrisman together
I just looked up Rhonda to find that she had passed. Sad and sorry! Mike Perkins
