I worked with Peter at DST. He was a kind soul. I am sorry for your loss. May he rest in peace in God’s arms.
To Peter’s family, you have my deepest condolences.
Peter and I worked together for many years, and we were very friendly. We had lost touch in the last 10 years or so, but I have many fond memories of Peter. We were on the same work team at DST for something like 7 years, and we went to lunch together most days. He was part of the soapmaking trio with me and Aaron Duncan, and we had many great Sundays making batches of soap together (and having a few beers and laughs!) Peter and I shared a love of gaming, and had many fun conversations about some complicated gaming concept or another. We also had very similar tastes in books. Three books in particular, which are still all-time favorites of mine were specifically recommended by Peter. A Night in the Lonesome October, by Roger Zelazny, is one that we both loved to listen to via audio book every year leading up to Halloween, and I still do it to this day.
I was so very sorry when I heard the unexpected news of Peter’s passing last night. I know there is nothing I can say to ease your pain, but I did want you to know that I was one of many whose life he touched.
Sincerely,
–Gavin Clyma
Sorry for you loss. I worked with Peter from time to time during his career at DST.
My deepest sympathy to Peter’s family. We worked together in the same team at DST for many years. We exchanged stories about our Catholic faith.
Eternal rest grant unto Peter, O Lord! And let perpetual light shine upon him. May Peter, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
May God bless his family.
My condolences to the Steindl family. I worked with Peter at DST as well and have missed working with him every since he left. I must add here that I also enjoyed the occasional refreshment with Peter at the Quaff after work! Our talks with friends over a cold one were always fun and I enjoyed Peter’s quirky sense of humor and his points of view regarding work life and life in general. Peace to my friend Peter and to his family.
So sorry to hear about Peter. Everyone enjoyed working with him because he was professional, a great teammate, and nice to be around. He will be missed by many.

Peter was such a gentle and spiritual soul. I worked with him at DST on multiple projects. Lunched together. Enjoyed his cooking..exchanged recipes. My heart aches at the thought of his dying so young. I am sure he is with Angels.
I love you Peter. “Fare thee well”
My deepest sympathies to the Steindl family. He will be missed.

To Peter’s family – I’ll keep you in my thoughts during this time of loss.
I was saddened to hear the news of Peter’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with him for many years and especially enjoyed his dry sense of humor and quick wit. I’ll miss the opportunities we had to talk while meeting at one of the local Indian restaurants with other friends and co-workers. My deepest condolences to you.
I knew Peter through our common time at DST. He possessed one of the kindest souls of anyone I’ve ever known. My deepest sympathies to the family on your loss.
I’m so sorry to hear of Peter’s passing. His brother, Matt, and I have been great friends for most of our lives and I have great memories of Peter. Peace be with you all.
My condolences and deep sympathy to the Steindl family. I worked with Peter and was very sad to hear of his passing. He will truly be missed.
I didn’t know Peter, but also worked at DST. My condolences to his family and friends. May the Lord provide comfort to you.
So sorry to hear about Peters passing. I worked with him at DST for many years and we became close friends.
We first became friends by our love of music. At the time we both were into Dave Matthews. He subsequently turned me on to so much great music. Although I could never really get into the Grateful Dead, he brought in albums I had never listened to by Roger Water, Vince Giraldi Trio, Talking Heads, Velvet Underground and more. Music was a big deal to both of us and the music he exposed me to is still very important to me.
We ate lunch together often. We discovered our love of Indian food together. Once eating at the same restaurant 2 days in a row.
We attended many concerts together and always had a great time. A highlight for both of us was seeing David Byrne at the uptown theater.
He and I went with some buddies to Amsterdam in 2002. That was a fun trip I think he really enjoyed. I think there may have been a trip or two to the lake, but I can’t remember for sure.
We made soap together on many occasions. I am sure you have used some of it He brought his heavenly onions and / or his olive tampanad to at least one Thanksgiving and a few New Years Eve parties.
I am so sorry for your loss. Peter was a great person and friend and I will miss him greatly.
So very sad to hear this news today. Peter was always a kind, good natured teammate. We all enjoyed working with him during his time at DST. He will be missed.
My deepest condolences to Peter’s family. I met Peter at DST. He was a nice man with a sweet soul. He worked with my ex husband whom was very fond of Peter. We are very sad to learn of Peter’s unexpected passing. The other side gained another good one, one gone to soon.
My sincerest condolences and deep sympathy to the Steindl family. I worked with Peter and am saddened by the news. He always had a smile on when and where ever our paths crossed.
Peace and comfort to all of his family and friends.

My deepest condolences to Peter’s family. I worked with Peter at DST and was very saddened to hear of his passing. My thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.
I am so sorry for your loss.
I met Peter at his home. We had such a lovely evening visiting with him and other DST friends.
Thinking of the family at this difficult time. He is missed.
I will always see the world through my brothers eyes, He had a wonderful outlook on humanity and life. His family and friends will miss Peter, but will never forget him, Andy
This is very sad to hear. I worked with Peter on a couple different things at DST over the years. He was a great guy. We shared a love of Blue Oyster Cult together and we saw them at KC Ribfest one summer night many years ago. It was actually after a rain storm and there were like 25 people in the crowd. We had the place to ourselves basically – front row – center. Great time!
He was a joy to be around and a true lover of music as others have mentioned. Very sad…
I knew him all along. Dorcas and I were extremely fortunate to have a several day visit with him just last month. He was (is) truly a wonderful person and a special delight to everyone he had contact with.
So sorry for your loss.
Prayers, Howard & Lois
