Paula Christine Acconcia, 71, of Lake Waukomis, Missouri, passed away November 6th, 2023, following a brief illness. Paula was born on Christmas Day, 1951 in Steubenville, Ohio to Paul and Dorothy (Milosevich) Acconcia.
Paula graduated Valedictorian from Catholic Central High School in Steubenville, Ohio in 1969. She attended Catholic University of America in Washington D.C., graduating with a degree in theater. Paula returned to the midwest to pursue a degree in law at UMKC. After practicing for numerous years as Assistant U.S. Trustee of Missouri, Paula retired to the peace and beauty of Lake Waukomis, Missouri.
Paula embodied a love of the arts; she was a talented musician, chorist, conversationalist, writer and wit. She found great value in friends, theater and travel. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents and brother Richard Acconcia. She is survived by daughter Jessica Maynard and grandchildren Stella and Riley Mogis of Omaha, Nebraska; brother David (Connie) Acconcia of Springboro, Ohio; cousin (like a sister) Martha Alford-Morgan of Henderson, Nevada; many friends from the Prairie Dulcimer Club, Scrabble Club, Cosmo Group, and Red Hat Ladies; special friends April Armstrong Bertholf, Sheryl Godsy, Tenley and Mike Fraser, Cathy Barton and Dave Para, William Gonzalez, Tom and Anne Dillon, John and Lisa Ross, Sharon and Roger Land, Teddi Wolff, and Deborah Young.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2023, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 7207 NW Highway 9, Kansas City, MO, with lunch afterward at the Church. Visitation one hour prior to the Mass. Private committal service and urn placement will take place at the new Parkville Cemetery at Creekside. Arrangements by Meyers Funeral Chapel – Northland.

So sorry for your loss. Paula was a truly special person who will be sorely missed.

I am so very sorry for the loss of Paula. I danced with her (in her wheel chair) at our reunion. I’m glad to have that memory of being with her.
