Paul Scharringhausen joined the Lord and members of his family in heaven on October 11, 2014. He was surrounded by his loving wife and family. Born on October 12, 1950 to Arnold and Myrtle Scharringhausen in Arlington Heights, IL, Paul grew up in Arlington Heights with his twin brothers Larry and Carl. He graduated from Concordia University in Seward, NE. He moved to Kansas City in 1982 where he was President and CEO of Midwest Bolt and Supply.
He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed fishing at his summer retreat on the Pomme de Terre River and in Canada and Alaska. He was active in Muskies Inc. and was an accomplished woodworker. Paul was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Farley, MO.
Saddened by his passing are his wife, Dotty Gillaspie; his children, Laura Day (Gary Lewis) of Kansas City, KS; Renee Jauregui (Luis) of Independence, MO; Heather Day of Las Vegas, NV and Heidi Bische of Kansas City, MO; Terri Matthews (Brent) of Rushville, MO; a brother, Larry Scharringhausen (Sharon) of Arlington Heights, IL; grandchildren: Alexander, Aidan, Emily, Lyden, Brennan; nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Myrtle Scharringhausen; his brother Carl and Diane, the mother of his daughters.
The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville. A memorial service celebrating Paul’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Farley, MO with Pastor Gregg Reiser officiating.
