Paul graduated from Mendel Catholic High School in Chicago. He later earned a BS in marketing from St. Joseph’s College and a MBA in business from Northern Illinois University. Paul had a long and rewarding career in the candy business. He spent the majority of his career as a marketing manager for Tootsie Roll Industries in Chicago. Some of the most popular candies he marketed were, Junior Mints, Charleston Chews and Cella’s Cherries.
Paul was very devoted to both his lord and his family. He was a long-time member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Orland Park and most recently, St. Therese Catholic Church in Kansas City, MO. He was a member of the Knight’s of Columbus. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing, traveling, spending time with family and spending time in Kauai, Hawaii.
Family was most important to Paul. Survivors include his best friend and beloved wife, Carol (Leach) Broadway of Parkville, MO; three daughters: Amy Walsh (Jay) of Alexandrea, KY, Jodi Rectanus (Bill) of Westminster, CO and Natalie McCracken of Kansas City, MO; sister, Barbara Broadway of Wilmington, DE; brother, Donald Broadway of Lyndell, PA; and seven grandchildren: Tyler, Connor, Jessica, Kate, Chloe, Wyatt and Gemma. Preceded in death by his sister Maribeth Broadway.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 14, 2022, St. Therese Catholic Church, 7207 NW Highway 9, Kansas City, MO 64152. A Committal Service and urn placement will follow at the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Parkville, MO. Arrangements entrusted with the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville, MO.
