Patricia Jean Tovar, nee Barutha, 73, a Northland resident of Kansas City, MO passed away peacefully Thursday, May 5, 2022. Patricia was born October 13, 1948 to Walter and Evelyn (Todryk) Barutha in Milwaukee, WI.
Patricia will be remembered for her loving patience, infinite imagination, passion for crafting and love for family.
Her grandchildren call her “Mimi.” She loved to spoil them with candy, treats, playing multiple games and lots of love. During the holidays, Mimi made sure that each grandchild received a handmade Christmas ornament from her and their Papa.
Patricia enjoyed working puzzles and crafting. Her crafting talents were unlimited for family and friends. She made birthday cakes in the shape of an alligator, floral arrangements for weddings and other special events. She was known to teach ceramics at local community centers or other projects with her neighbors in her apartment complex.
Patricia was inspired by her husband and children who are U.S. Veterans to make homemade cards to honor veterans and wounded warriors that served their country during the Gulf War and continued making cards for wounded veterans thru the Afghanistan War. She took pride in starting a card drive to send to active duty soldiers and veterans near and far.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Tovar, both parents, a brother, Jimmy Barutha and a granddaughter, Jennifer Hadlock. She is survived by her four children: Anthony Tovar (Yun); Mark Tovar (Kelly); Nicole Day (Charles); Victoria Dement (Michael); eleven grandchildren: Noelle, Patrick, Danielle, John, Mark Jacob, Ryan, Eliana, Alexandria, Jaden, Natalie and Raymond; one great-grandson and one great-grandchild expected soon; three sisters: Carolyn Barutha; Sue Dolkiewicz; Nancy Dalton and a brother Dennis Barutha; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a Visitation and Prayer Service celebrating Patricia’s life from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 11, 2022 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 1720 E. Norwich Avenue, Milwaukee, WI. A lunch reception will immediately follow at Pulaski Inn, 3900 E. Pulaski Avenue Milwaukee, WI.
