Cremation arrangements have been entrusted with the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville, MO. A service celebrating Pat’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the Trinity Lutheran Church 2101 10th Ave., Leavenworth, Kansas. A luncheon will immediately follow at the church. The Memorial Service may be viewed via Zoom, 941 492 627. A private urn placement will take place in the Leavenworth National Cemetery. Patricia Nelson Lange, 74, of Platte City, MO passed away July 7, 2023, at Wexford Place in Kansas City, MO. She was born September 12, 1948 in Evanston, IL to Glenn and Eleanor (Behrendt) Nelson. They preceded her in death.
Pat graduated high school from Niles Township North and earned a BS in Education from Purdue University. She spent the majority of her career as a classroom teacher, at the elementary level. In recent years Pat served as a substitute teacher for Ft. Leavenworth, Leavenworth and Lansing schools in Kansas.
Pat had a great zest for life, enjoyed people and never met a stranger. She had a passion for singing and was active in high school, college and other choirs throughout the years. She had a strong faith in the Lord, and was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Leavenworth, where she also served on the Board of Outreach, Board of Youth and helped with Vacation Bible School.
She married John Harvey Lange, Jr. on August 8, 1970 in Skokie, IL. In addition to John, survivors include two children, Jennifer Anne Majors and husband, William of Kansas City, MO and Jonathan Patrick Lange and wife, Lauren of Madisonville, LA; four beloved grandchildren: Noah, Matthew, Everett and Colin; and sister, Suzanne Nelson of Sarasota, FL. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Glenn “Skip” Nelson.
