Pauline M. Manley. 76, a Northland resident of Kansas City, MO passed away peacefully at 7:59 p.m. on November 20, 2023, at the NorthCare Hospice House in North Kansas City Hospital.  She was born March 22, 1947 in Boulder, CO to Paul Edward and Marilyn M. (McIntosh) Henry.  They preceded her in death.

Pauline graduated high school in Lexington, MO and spent the majority of her working career in the Kansas City area where she was a caregiver and registered CNA.  This was a career she loved and was truly devoted to.

In her spare time, Pauline enjoyed tending to her flower garden, birdwatching and spending time with family.  She had a heart of gold and will always be remembered for her love for people and the fact that she was always looking to care for others.

She married William Joseph Manley on April 16, 1966 in Richmond, MO.  Mr. Manley preceded her in death on July 22, 2022.  In addition to her parents and Bill, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Jerry Bishop and Kathryn Freeman.  Survivors include her beloved daughter, Renea Lynn Macaluso and husband, James of Parkville, MO; and her beloved son, Kevin Michael Manley of Gladstone, MO.

A celebration of Johnny’s life will be held Friday, December 1, 2023, at the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville.  Visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a memorial service celebrating his life beginning at 3:00 p.m.

A second Celebration of Johnny’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Inland Valley Church of Christ 1550 N. Palmetto Ave. Ontario, CA 91762.

Johnny Joe Vega, beloved son, brother, friend and colleague, passed away on November 19, 2023 at the age of 27. Born on July 13th in Pomona, California, Johnny lived an extraordinary life filled with love, laughter and a constant thirst for knowledge.

Johnny was a man of many talents and interests.  He was not afraid to step out of his comfort zone and try new things. Whether it was making professional training videos for work or showcasing his skills as a bartender, Johnny was always eager to share his passions with others.

In addition to his diverse talents, Johnny had a strong sense of community and was an active member of the Inland Valley Church of Christ in Ontario, California. He found joy in connecting with others and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Those who knew Johnny remember him as a kind, caring and fun-loving soul. He had a contagious energy that could light up any room he walked into. His smile was infectious, and his positive attitude was unwavering. Johnny believed that living life to the fullest and spreading goodness were the keys to a fulfilling life.

Johnny will be deeply missed by his loving mother, Martha Vega, and his devoted sister, Emily Stacy Vega.  He was preceded in death by his father, Juan Vega, who passed away in June of 2022.

But Johnny’s impact extends far beyond his immediate family. He leaves behind a wide circle of close friends, including Sergio, Ricky, Kat and her husband Erik, Eddy and his wife Erika, as well as coworkers Adam, Arlin and Todd. Johnny was also very close with his brother-in-law, David Mendoza.

His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

 

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Michael’s life from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at iWerx, 1520 Clay St. North Kansas City, MO 64116.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the family, where funds will be allocated for seatbelt awareness at Platte County High School and or Student scholarships through the Northland Career Center.

Michael Paul Stephenson, Jr., 19, of Platte City, MO passed away unexpectedly on November 19, 2023, in Saline County, MO from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.  He was born January 21, 2004 in North Kansas City, MO to Michael Paul and Dana Renea (Fraundorfer) Stephenson.

Michael graduated from Platte County High School, Class of 2022, where he was a member of the Pride and Traditions Band and was on the Archery team.  He graduated from the Northland Career Center with a certification as a diesel technician.  Michael’s love for vehicles was carried over into his career, where he was employed at America’s Auto Auction and worked in detail and sales.   When he wasn’t working, he was often helping family and friends work on their vehicle or fishing with friends.  As a young boy, Michael was active in Boy Scouts of America, where he was a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say and went on to earn the rank of Eagle Scout.  Michael also worked hard to earn a black belt in Tae Kwan Do.

Family was most important to Michael.  He leaves behind his parents, Mike and Dana of Platte City; his beloved sister, Danika Grace Stephenson of Platte City; paternal grandmother, Patricia Stephenson of Norwalk, IA; maternal grandparents, William and Patricia Fraundorfer of Parkville, MO.  He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Tom Stephenson.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, December 4, 2023 at St. Therese Catholic Church. A private Committal Service will be held at Leavenworth National Cemetery 150 Muncie Road, Leavenworth, KS.

Bernadette “Bernie” Helen Moning, 89, of Parkville, MO passed away peacefully Sunday, November 19, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospice in Kansas City, MO.  Bernadette was born February 9, 1934 to William and Elizabeth “Elsie” (Gutzwiller) Walter in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Bernadette is survived by her three children: Russell (Colleen); Judy (Judy); Linda (John); four grandchildren: Jesse, Aaron, Jason and Lauren; and several great-grandchildren; three siblings: Rose Mary “Rosie,” Agnes and James.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard B. Moning, both of her parents William and Elsie, three siblings: Raymond, Irene and Lawrence.

Mrs. Moning was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church and was active in the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
