Nicole Cherie L’Hommedieu, 45, of Riverside, MO passed away December 17, 2020, at the North Kansas City Hospital. Nicki was born March 28, 1975 in Independence, MO to Robert and Barbara Josephine (Smith) Guardado. Nicki graduated from Park Hill High School and worked for Johnson Controls as an alarm dispatcher.Nicki had a zest for life, a genuine love for people and an ability to put a positive spin on everything. She lit up any room she walked into and you could just feel the Love coming off her. She always had a smile on her face. She was the most loving, selfless, and wonderful person you could ever know. She was the best wife, mother, daughter and sister anyone could ever ask her. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly. Her family meant the world to her. Both family and friends will be forever grateful for the life of Nicki L’Hommedieu. In her spare time, she enjoyed making various crafts and spending time at the swimming pool.She married Jeffrey Scott L’Hommedieu on July 7, 1995 in Independence. In addition to Jeff, survivors include two daughters, Chloe White and husband, Ira of Riverside, MO and Kali Bosch and husband, Brett of Parkville, MO; her parents, Bob and Barbara Guardado of Kansas City, MO; sister, Brooke Jiskra and husband Brandon of Kansas City, MO; and five beloved grandchildren.
A private family service will be held 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville. The service will be streamed live from her obituary page at Meyersfuneralchapel.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the family to assist with her grandchildren’s future educational needs and can be sent in care of Meyers Funeral Chapel, 401 Main Street, Parkville, MO, 64152. Friday was a very somber day at work as we learned that our bubbly Nicki will not be coming back to work with us. The Chiefs earrings that she made will forever hold a special memory with me. You are missed, Nicki!!

Nicki was in my 5th grade class at St. Therese.. She was a hard worker, got along with everyone and loved to help others. I also had the pleasure of working with her at Park Hill. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. She was a sweet, kind, loving young lady.

It was to, “He’s Got the Whole World, in His Hands.” 🙂 A lot of my childhood memories are with your family, and they’re all beautiful memories. I could go on and on, the birthday parties, the pool days, the crafts and activities that Nicki would set up for us. She was such an incredible mom, and woman in general, I can only imagine how much being a grandma lit her up too. You all are such a strong, beautiful, family unit – I know you will get through this with the support of each other, but please know there is so much support around you as well. <3 Prayers

I had the privilege and pleasure of working with Nicki several times at Johnson Controls. Her heart in all matters was truly one that exuded the highest degree of pleasantness, positivity, helpfulness, enthusiasm, and kindness. We have all suffered a great loss with her passing. I have some fond childhood memories of playing in misty woods with Nicki & Brooke. Even after they moved to another neighborhood; Nicki still stayed in contact with me. She was a sweet friend and will be missed forever. I am praying for her family during this difficult time.

I remember Nicki (and Brooke) being Trisha and Ashley’s cool KC cousins when we were young! 😊 What a beautiful woman she grew up to be…you can see from all the messages how much she was cherished and loved, what a light she was in this world!! My heart just breaks for the whole family, I ask our Lord To hold you all up and hold your FAITH up until you feel strong enough to stand on your own. I love you all and you are in my heart always.

Nikki has been part of the JCI family for over a decade. It has been over thirteen years to be exact. Her commitment to excellence and self-motivation guaranteed there would be a bright spot in many of our days. Nicki and I go way back when my two eldest boys and Nicki’s girls went to the same elementary school . Nicki loved God and her faith in the Lord was extremely strong, Nicki always had a positive side to her and a big beautiful smile , I loved Nicki’s laugh! Hugs, prayers and love to our beloved Guardado family and to Jeff and the girls! When our cousin Bobby brought Barb into our family, and then these two precious, adorable and darling girls would light up our gatherings; I recall truly engrossed with Nikki and Brooke as Barb had them all dolled up to the hilt! Of course, our gatherings were huge, and yet when we sought one another out – it was fun to see them grow up and learn about them. So, losing a child is heart-breaking, and we left behind keep the torch alive for Nicole in honoring her family and help her legacy live on forever. Our best to each of you, Bob, Barb, Brooke – you will be there for Jeff and the girls to do exactly that. My petition is that your pain lessens momently as you transition/deal- our faith sustains us when human senses fail.
