Naomi Irene Moore, 99, a resident of Grain Valley, MO passed away peacefully Monday, November 7, 2022 at Lee’s Summit Medical Center in Lee’s Summit, MO. She was born July 4, 1923 to Gerald and Adene (Harris) Mitchell.
Naomi spent her working career as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. She was united in marriage to Donald L. Moore Sr. in 1946. Naomi and Donald moved to Pomme de Terre Lake in 1978. She enjoyed reading, animals, and her beloved hummingbirds. Goose as she was lovingly referred to, cherished spending time with her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Survived by her children, Sandy Moszczynski of Grain Valley, MO; Maurice “Bernie” Moore and wife Donna of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Leakadia and husband Mike, Corinne, Olivia, Allysn, Rachel, and 16 other grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Colin, Corbin, Caden, Cora, Jude, Cali, Madison, Ashlyn, Aniston. Naomi is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Wilford Mitchell; an infant sister; sons, Donald L. Moore Jr., Ernest E. Moore, James L. Moore; daughter, Barbara Gill.
Her family will receive family and friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main St, Blue Springs, MO. Naomi will be laid to rest along with her husband at the Springfield National Cemetery in Springfield, MO in a private ceremony.
