Aunt Mary was an important “rock” of the Sickman family. Her compassion for others was evident as she took care of family members as young children and even as we grew older, inviting us to stop by when on the way to the airport if flying out of KC. She always wanted us to sit down and have some iced tea and share a meal before we parted. She mentored many of us and probably left an indelible mark on our lives and didn’t even realize it. She was a blessing!
Aunt Mary was someone I could always count on for honest answers. Her and Uncle Tom babysit Teresa, Mike and myself when we lived in Kansas City when they were dating. I looked to them both in times of crisis or grief. Anyone that knew this beautiful lady considered her an unexpected gift. I saw her as a light in my life on many occasions. I love you Aunt Mary.
