Phillip Harmon, Jr., 65, of Kansas City, MO passed away peacefully early Friday morning, September 23, 2022. At the time of his passing, Mr. Harmon was under hospice care at a nursing and rehabilitation center in Platte City, He was born August 26, 1957 in Lamar, MO to Phillip Charles and Leslie Alma (Miller) Harmon. They preceded him in death.
Phil graduated from North Kansas City High School and spent the majority of his working career in construction, most of the time with concrete work. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting & fishing, woodworking, and barbecues with family and friends.
Survivors include his two sisters, Beth Harmon-Vaughan and husband Terry of Kansas City, MO and Elaine McCoy of Parkville, MO; a nephew, Andrew McCoy; a niece, Laurel McCoy; and his beloved dog, Nellie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother in law, Dave McCoy.
Graveside Services and Urn Placement will take place at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 17, 2022 near his parents at Memory Gardens, Lamar, MO. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions are suggested to St. Charles Borromeo Angel, to provide sponsorship funds to help underprivileged children attend Borromeo Academy. We are grateful that Phil is at peace with the grace of God. He was proud of his many major construction projects and loved to fish and hunt. He was loved and will be missed.
My cousin….haven’t seen him for many years but I will think of him as I remember him last….fun, joking, laughing, loud, kind, generous…someone that drew your attention in the best way. I will miss his letters and just knowing he’s there. So sad to see him go, but there are many others so happy to see him come. ❤️
