He graduated from Park Hill High School in 1981 and continued his education earning his Associate degree from Metropolitan Community College (MCC). Mitch loved playing baseball and softball during his school years and continued to be an avid sportsman for local teams in the Kansas City Metro area for numerous years.
Mitch will be remembered for his eclectic taste of music, wonderful sense of humor, playing his guitar, being a devoted fan for the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, being a hard worker and of course his stubbornness.
Mitch was a simple man who enjoyed spending time with family, friends and especially his soulmate Kim. Always living life to the fullest. When he received the diagnosis from the Dr.’s of lung cancer, he took the worst news ever handed to him and was determined to be strong not only for himself but for everyone he knew and loved. Mitch was determined to remain brave and fight.
Mitch might be gone from our sight but never from our hearts.

Matt and family, so sorry to hear about MItch. He was really a great guy and gentle soul. I’m glad to see he found a soulmate in Kim. Yes, Mitch was a bit stubborn, but, he’d do anything to help someone. I really enjoyed talking with him. His sense of humor was like that of a couple of other people I know.
My condolences to Kim, you were a rock for Mitch and ultimately the rest of our family during this time. Thank you for all that you have done for him and us. Mitch was a character, I have extremely fond memories of him throughout my whole childhood. He will be greatly missed.
My condolences to Kim, and the rest of the family.
Uncle Mitch played a big role in inspiring me to play guitar & music. A lot of great memories from childhood full of laughter and fun. He will be missed indeed!
Kim,
You and Mitch were the best neighbors, and I miss you both so much. I’m so very sorry. I will never forget all the times Mitch brought over the best roast beef ever, every time he cooked one. I still have the plant he started for me. This list of ransom acts of kindness is endless. He was such a great guy, and I hope you feel his presence around you often. Much love to you, my friend.
My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mitch. We lost touch years ago but I have fond memories of him from Kindergarten on through high school. Mitch was a genuine soul and I always enjoyed hanging out together. Situations won’t allow me to attend his services but I send my warmest regards to everyone in attendance there.
