Michael Thomas Derringer, 62, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on August 28, 2020. Mike was born on February 1, 1958, at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas. Mike was a 3lb 6oz bundle of joy born to Robert and Betty Derringer. Mike was the oldest of three children of Robert and Betty.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his maternal and paternal grandparents, and Aunt Patty Porterfield. Mike is survived by his brother Robert (Lisa), and sister Deborah (Keith). He leaves behind nieces Rebecca (Chad) Black and Kathleen Derringer, nephew Kyle Derringer, grandnieces Dylan and Devin and grandnephew Jensen Black. He also leaves behind his Uncle Norman Porterfield.
Mike was a passionate artist. A car guru, Mike showed his love for automobiles and racing through his artwork. He also was quite the comedian and passionate impersonator. Mike had the gentlest soul to everyone he knew, and would give to the unfortunate anything he had in his wallet to give.
He was the greatest brother we could have ever hoped for. Fly high Mike and we will see you again someday.

Bob/ Debbie, I just now found out, I am so sad to hear of the loss of Mike. Comedian and impersonator, there wasn’t a teacher that he could not impersonate in high school. He kept us rolling and laughing for years. I can still hear Bob Sr., Mike, and Bobby calling me DIMRICK!
I’m so sorry for your loss. Mike was my neighbor and a great guy. He was so friendly and chatty when I ran into him outside, and he loved playing with the dogs in the building. We’re all very saddened by his loss.
