Michelle Renae Leitner, 50, a resident of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Spring, Missouri. She was born on April 30, 1973 to Michael Allen and Janice Louise Wilson in Kansas City, Missouri.
Michelle was united in marriage to Samuel Marlin Leitner on June 19, 1999 at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Blue Springs, Missouri. Through this union they had one son, Samuel.
Michelle graduated from Center High School in Kansas City. She was a very loving person with beautiful eyes and a smile that would light up the room, who wouldn’t take shit off anyone! She loved listening to music, relaxing waterside, and tending to her flowers. Michelle worked at the Ford Motor Company Assembly Plant for 22 years. She loved her family through thick and thin. Her son, Samuel, considered Michelle to be the best mother in the world. The Las Vegas Raiders held a special place in her heart. Michelle is deeply loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Michelle is survived by her loving husband: Samuel of Blue Springs, Missouri, her son: Samuel Wells Leitner and special friend Candreynn Cowick of Blue Springs, Missouri, and her mother: Janice Chapman of Blue Springs, Missouri. Her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Bruce and Lana Butler of Independence, Missouri survive as well. She is also survived by her brother: Christopher L. Mueller and wife Kaylene of Blue Springs, Missouri, brothers-in-law: Alfred Jones and husband David Schulman, and Eric Jones and wife Karen. Also surviving are aunts and uncles: Louie Glaub of DeKalb, Missouri, Cheryle Keefer of Kansas City, Missouri, and Mike Keefer of Gladstone, Missouri, and a cousin Michelle commonly referred to as her “sister from another Mister”: Mendy Wilson Paynter of Lamar, Missouri. Two great aunts: Maxine Cox of Lamar, Missouri and Darlene Logan of Miller, Missouri and a host of other cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive. Michelle is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents, her Father: Michael Wilson, and her uncle: Landon Wilson
Arrangement have been entrusted to Meyers Funeral Chapel in Blue Springs. A visitation will be held at 1:00 P.M, followed by a Celebration of Life ceremony on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at the Episcopal Church of Resurrection in Blue Springs, Missouri. A Reception will follow the service downstairs in the undercroft. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Church of the Resurrection; 1433 NW R.D. Mize Rd. Blue Springs, Mo.
