Michael Lair, 75, a Parkville resident, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 21, 2022, surrounded in love by his family. Born in Hocomo, MO, on July 24,1947, Michael was the second son of Reubin and Rosie Lair, who along with big brother, Gary Lair, preceded him in death.
Michael graduated from Platte City High School before enlisting in the Army National Guard, where he was stationed at Camp Clark in Nevada, MO. After service, Michael founded his own excavating business, Lair Excavating, which he owned and operated until recent years. He loved to work, but loved his Lord and his family more and was an active and faithful member of Northland Cathedral Church. An adventurous outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially traveling to the Colorado mountains and his cabin in Dora, MO, where he fished the North Fork River.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Sue Lair; son, Kevin Moore (w. Jaime) of Independence, MO; daughters, Melanie Hewins (h. Kenny) of Rogers, AR; Jessie Legan (h. Chris); and his beloved grandchildren: Madelyn Lomax, Samuel Hewins, Amelia Hewins, Jacob Moore, Taylor Johnson, Dalton Fath, Emily Moore and Jay Paul Legan.
Visitation will be held at Northland Cathedral, 101 NW 99th St in KC, MO at 10:00 AM Friday, November 25, 2022, with funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions are suggested to Kansas City Hospice and may be left in care of the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville. Graveside Services will be held at 11 AM.
