Michael Joseph Dominick, 54, of Blue Springs, MO passed away Monday, November 18, 2013. Michael was born in Kansas City, MO to Mike and Della (King) Dominick.
Michael loved life and especially every aspect of nature. He studied and always continued to increase his knowledge of God’s creation. He was very friendly with everyone. His physical strength and abilities won him a football letter from Northeast High School in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from De LaSalle at age 17. Shortly afterwards he joined the Army and was stationed in Germany. He greatly enjoyed touring that country.
During his military service he met and married Camey Diane Hobson, and they lived in Marietta, GA where their son Michael James was born.
In 1979 he moved back to Kansas City, MO where he met and married his best friend’s sister, Blenda Miller. They moved to Independence, Mo where their son, Michael Lucas and daughter, Alicia Marie were born.
He worked for the City of Independence MO Health Department until he sustained a back injury. He continued to be as active as he could regardless of his disability. His humor and quick wit and knowledge were strengths he shared with others.
He is survived by his parents; his son, Michael James of Georgia; son, Michael Lucas of Blue Springs, MO; daughter, Alicia Dominick of Raytown, MO with grandchildren, Anthony, Auztyn, and Mattyi; brothers, Mark Dominick of Kansas City, MO, Paul Dominick of Overland Park, KS; sisters, Tina Alvaro of Lenexa, KS and Anna Dominick of Overland Park, KS; and six nephews and one niece, many cousins, and aunts and uncles. He loved the Lord and is “home” now in peace.
Visitation for Michael will be 1:00 – 2:30 pm Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Cross Roads Church, 900 NW Jefferson St., Grain Valley, MO, with memorial service beginning at 2:30. It has been a long time Mike. I am sorry to see here that you have already passed. We knew each other for a short time. I remember your house in independenc, meeting your family, and how proud you were of that new ford tempo! We worked side by side for over a year. We both disliked manhole covers. Those suckers were heavy. Sorry to learn in your obit that you messed up your back. I’m sure that job had something to do with it.
I am glad to read about you having a relationship with God. I will see you later old friend.
