Michael was a very proud member of the Army National Guard. He retired in 2000 after 22 years of service.
Michael was united in marriage with Victoria Tovar on March 27, 1999 in Henderson, N.C. They later moved to Kansas City, MO; making the Northland their new home.
Michael was a collector of many items, including family beer steins, and baseball caps. When family or friends vacationed, he would ask for a ballcap or rock from their special destination or anything unusual. He was an avid reader, especially military history. Michael was a member of the Park Hill Group located in Riverside, MO; where he made many friends and recently celebrated his 17th year of sobriety.
Michael never met a stranger; everyone was a friend. He was always there to help a friend in need. He loved his family dearly. The past 4 years have been wonderful spending time and playing with his grandson and best friend, Jude.
Michael will be remembered as a true southern gentleman, loving husband, father, Papa and friend. Gone from our sight but never from our memories or heart.
He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Victoria Dement; a son, Raymond Hadlock, a grandson Jude Hadlock; two sisters: Juanita Pearce (Michael) and Dorothy Turner (Ralph) numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by both of his parents.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville, MO. A Celebration of Michael’s life will commence at 7:00 p.m. at the chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to The Cancer Research Center at University of Kansas Health Systems.
Love you, brother.
Dear Victoria and Raymond, I was saddened to hear of Michaels passing. I did not know him well but the times I was around him he was always very kind to me. I know you will miss him terrible and can help Jude with his feelings also. The love in your heart can be given to others too. I know this is a hard time for all of you, know that you are in my thoughts. Hugs for all, Rhonda (GG)

A wonderful first cousin who always looked up to me and wanted to be like me. A military veteran. Life can be hard, but may the peace and comfort from the Word of God bring you and the family comfort at this time. Love and prayers. Richard Arthur, Inman, SC.
Victoria, Raymond and Jude I’m so very sorry for your loss. Michael was such a loving husband, father, and papa and so proud of his family. He will be greatly missed for all his jokes and all his thoughtful messages and pictures he would send to let you know he was thinking about you. Truly a kind and generous man. I love this Mad Dog!

Thinking of you and your family Victoria. Praying for you and sending love across the miles.
Dear Victoria,
Michael was undoubtedly the most special man we ever knew. Kind doesn’t even begin to describe in. We will be out of state, but will gladly give in his honor. I wish you could feel my hug and how bad I feel missing his memorial. Love, Tinka
Michael was a good friend and coworker when we worked together at Cushing. He’d always try to do what he could for us crazy nurses to make things better for us. Always kind and had a smile. Look forward to Jesus’ coming and know Michael’s resting until that day when you all are united together again. I’ll miss his ‘Happy Sabbath Deb’ each week in response to my posts for a Happy Sabbath. May our Lord wrap His arms around each of you and give you comfort and peace until you meet with Michael again. 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you Mike for serving our country. Because of your service to our country we can all live our lives in freedom and peace.
God bless you for taking care of our country with “LOVE PRIDE AND HONOR” and for all the sacrifices you have made for our country for me and for all of us.

Vicki and Raymond,
I’m so sorry for your loss and deeply saddened for you. Michael was the sweetest guy and I’m going to miss his kind, sweet FB comments. May you find comfort and peace during this time knowing he is fully healed and in the arms of Jesus. Rest in paradise Michael. Godspeed! ❤️
Vickie, Raymond, and Jude- my heart hurts for all of you! Michael was a kind and gentle soul. He always seemed above the fray and just loved his family! My condolences to everyone who loved him.
There are no words to adequately soothe a loss like this. He will be missed by many. The one thing I remember most about him aside from his gentle nature is how he’d always call folks “young lady” or “young man”. It was his words of endearment to anyone and everyone that crossed his path. A true gentleman. Prayers for healing to you Victoria and his entire family and friends.
Victoria, Raymond and Jude…Mike and I are SO very sorry for your **profound** loss. Michael was an incredibly good, kind and decent man. May all the wonderful memories and love you shared sustain you in your time of grief and always.
