Max Lester Burk – Kansas City North 09.30.2023

He graduated from Rocky Ford High School, Class of 1973 in Rocky Ford, CO.  Max would go on to graduate from William Jewell College in 1980 and DeVry University in 2003.  He was a licensed embalmer in the state of Missouri, owned a Dr. Vinyl business and ended up retiring from the IRS following 18 years of service.  In his spare time, Max enjoyed going to the swimming pool and anything that involved cars.  He had an infatuation with the history of the automobile and enjoyed attending car shows.  His own prize possession was a 1934 Chevy car.  He also enjoyed studying the history of Kansas City, especially the city’s organized crime.  Max was a member of Northland Cathedral and believed in serving the Lord.  He also helped with the church’s annual car show.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mildred (Wells) Burk; and a sister, Susan McMahon.  Survived by his wife of 18 years, Connie (Freeman) Burk; siblings, C. Dean Burk of Mexico and Charles Walter Burk of Illinois; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
