Maureen held a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Lindenwood University. She was united in marriage to Melvin York on November 24, 1995 until his passing on July 16, 2016. Maureen was the former President and CEO of EnviroStar Waste Service Inc., in Grain Valley, MO. She was Catholic by faith. Maureen was an excellent cook and enjoyed gardening, traveling, quilting, knitting, crocheting, making crafts, and reading Stephen King novels. Maureen cherished spending time with her grandchildren.
Maureen is survived by her sons, Daniel McCluer (Michelle), Joseph McCluer (Kassy Ketter); step-sons, Joshua York (Coryn), and Benjamin York (Sara); grandchildren, Samuel, Oliver, Mickenzie, Cameron, Lincoln, Tori, Olivia, Aimé, Reid, Michael, Jayden, Shysee, and Kaydence; brother, Lawrence Klipfel (Theresa) and sister, Suzanne Brooks (Tom). Maureen was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin York and parents, Sylvester and Dorothy Klipfel.
Family and friends will be received at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main St., Blue Springs, MO from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. on Friday, September 2, 2022. The rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. followed by the memorial service at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel. Inurnment will follow at the Blue Springs Cemetery in Blue Springs, MO.
