Mary Lou (Peyton) Koch, long time resident of Blue Springs, Missouri passed from this life on June 7th, 2012 at the age of 85. She had been fighting a valiant battle against colon cancer and had just recovered from a broken pelvis when she died suddenly of a heart attack at her home in Grain Valley, Missouri.
She was born on February 4th, 1927 in Wichita, Kansas the daughter of Orville and Hazel Peyton. She graduated from Hastings High School in Hastings, Nebraska and attended college at the University of Nebraska, where she was affiliated with the Tri- Delta, sorority. Most recently she was a charter member of the Blue Springs Art Committee and a member of Blue Springs Country Club.
She leaves behind a husband, Kenneth Koch and two daughters, Kellee Koch Jameson, her husband Drew Jameson and Linda Koch Marshall and her husband Hugh Marshall. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Connor and Stella Jameson and Kevin, Grace and Keith Marshall.
A visitation will be held at Meyer’s Funeral home in Blue Springs, Missouri beginning at 9:00 A.M. on June 18th with a memorial service to follow immediately thereafter. There will be an additional grave side service at the burial at the Veteran’s Cemetery at Higginsville, Mo.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that financial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
