She was a member of the YMCA AOA (Active Older Adults) group and various Veterans Wives Groups. Marilyn enjoyed gardening, and cooking. Her cooking was always the highlight of every pot luck dinner. She always made time for family, especially Thursday nights with Ray; this was their “date night.”
She was preceded in death by both parents and a brother, Norman Soika. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Ray Dobbins; a daughter, Cindy Hudson of Gladstone, MO; grandson, Tyler Hudson of Kansas City, MO; a sister, Doreen McMahon of Keansburg, N.J.; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville, MO. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at the chapel with Rev. Marty Juarez officiating. Burial will follow at East Slope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Southern Platte Emergency Assistance Center (SPEAC) or the charity of your choice.
