Marian (Patterson) Schimmer, 90, formerly of Chariton, Iowa passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021. She was born in Williamson, Iowa on January 26, 1931 to James and Emma (Martin) Patterson.
She graduated from high school at Chariton, IA and later moved to North Platte, Nebraska in 1971. She worked at Education Service Unit #16 in North Platte, Nebraska for 17 years.
Marian was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 163.
She is survived by a son, Ed and his wife, Jill Woods of Cameron, MO; a daughter, Pam Benjamin and her husband Neill Burt of Parkville, MO; four grandsons: Ben and his wife, Aimee Woods of Omaha, NE; Dylan and his wife, Kaitlin Woods of Lawrence, KS; Travis Benjamin of Parkville, MO and Justin Benjamin of Kansas City, MO; three great-granddaughters: Zoe Festa-Woods; Abby Woods and Emrah Benjamin; 2 great-grandsons: Luke Woods and Jackson Woods; a sister, Janice Throckmorten of Ankeny, IA; a stepson, Rod Schimmer; four step-daughters: Julie Stetham; Martha Kollasch; Teresa Schimmer and Peggy Schmitz; a host of special nieces, nephews and cousins. Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Rod Schimmer; father and mother James and Emma Patterson; brothers: Joseph Patterson; James Patterson, Raymond Patterson and Eddie Patterson; a sister Agnes Wilson and a niece Diane Gladue.

So sorry Ed. I have fond memories of time spent in both Indianola and Cameron! She was always so kind and generous to me and my family! I know how much she will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear about Marian. She was like a second Mom to me. Always had a smile on her face and would help in anyway she could. We had alot of good times that I will always remember. I am here if I can do anything.
