Lisa Marie Zimmerer also known as “Sunshine” to close family and friends, 44, a Northland resident of Kansas City, MO passed away peacefully on September 11, 2023. She was born January 12, 1979 in Kansas City to Lawrie and Willene (Jones) Arthur. Lisa graduated from Park Hill High School and earned a BS in Business and Marketing from Baker University. During her time at Baker, she spent a semester studying abroad at Harlaxton College in England.
Lisa’s working career was cut short due to loss of sight. She was very proud of her time at ADM Grain, where she assisted local farmers in procurement of grain, fuel, and other operating needs. She was always looking to help others and spent several years volunteering as a motivational speaker for Gift of Life. Lisa was an accomplished poker player, enjoyed playing fantasy football and worked hard every day to transfer her exceptional organization talents to her loved ones.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Zimmerer; her bonus children: Shane Michael Uminn, Kersten Vail Conner and Rorey Dene Zimmerer; a brother, Charles; sister-in-law, Robyn; nephew, Bodie; and grandson, Seth.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Platte Woods United Methodist Church in the dining hall on Friday, September 22nd from 5:30 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you do a random act of kindness for someone else or give to a charity of your choice. Arrangements by the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville. Memories of Lisa and condolences may be shared at meyersfuneralchapel.com.
